Start using the techniques of the pros and elevate your art to a new level!
Drawing and coloring sounds easy and IT IS, provided you have the motivation and knowledge to do so!
I have been drawing and sketching ever since I was a young kid, around five or six, and have never stopped. I have worked a long time to perfect my techniques and skills and have accumulated a solid chunk of knowledge. This site is dedicated to helping you,the aspiring artist or hobbyist, to discover new techniques you may not know about and to help you perfect the ones you already do.
As I continue to grow and learn new techniques or tips, I will update and share them with you step by step. That will allow you to benefit from my years of experience, lots of practice and happy mistakes .
I once put off using color in my drawings and art because I found it too intimidating to learn color theory and learn how to use a new medium - as I'm sure a lot of people do. My friends in my high school art class used colored pencils and oil pastels and loved them. I tried to use colored pencils a few times, but found them too tedious to work with and found myself discouraged.
It took almost 4 years after that time for me to give color mediums another try. I had reached a point with my black and white studies where I felt I needed more. I then began using colored pencils and found them not so difficult to use after all. Then I found soft pastels and my love of color suddenly exploded.
The properties of soft pastels allowed me to work quickly and to use colored pencils for the detailed that I had grown accustom to with my pencil studies. I also found I could combine many techniques I had used in my previous black & white work including using ink ,markers and graphite.
The thing is anyone can go beyond the basics of drawing and coloring if they have a medium that inspires them. Hopefully the media I demonstrate will show you how easy it really is to use and learn new techniques that will take your art to the next level.
