Color Theory - It Ain't That Hard

Color Theory and using color mediums can be made out to be a very complicated and hard thing to figure out but if you have some basic knowledge to start the rest will come quite easily over time.

I put off using color media for a long time because it intimidated me and seemed like a lot more work and honestly I just wasn't ready or didn't have the right mind set.

It took me almost 3 years before I gave color media a fair go and from that day on I fell in love with them and have created more artwork in the last year than in the past 5. There are a lot of different mediums out there you just have to find the one that "speaks" to you as corny as that may sound.

I'm sure a few of you reading this feel the same way as I did, but If you are reading this you are probably ready or are on the verge of diving into that wonderful world of color. There are just a few tips to get as with learning anything new.

Take your time and go at your own pace.

There is no time frame to learn these techniques but as with anything the more you practice the quicker you will get results and see your work progress.

Don't let the words COLOR THEORY scare you.

There are fancy and intimidating sounding words that come with any skill, but once you know what they mean you can simplify them and get a solid grasp on the concepts. Learning how color works does involve some memorization of a few basics; but once you have them under you its a lot easier to build on.

All you need is an open mind and some basic supplies you can get at any hobby store or for better deals on the internet.
